Anime Challenge Day 25: What is Your Comfort Anime?

I have to dig a little deep for this one but I would say my biggest comfort anime would be anything Pokemon related. Pokemon reminds me of my childhood and all the fond years I spent collecting cards with my brother. It also reminds me of some of my very first video game console games (Pokemon Yellow FTW!).

I actually still have my Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP with Pokemon Yellow plugged in and ready to go (if I ever do find my SP charger). I couldn’t really tell you what it is about Pokemon that holds such a fond memory for me but my guess would be that it was the moment where I became a true gamer (or “nerd” to some). Instead of diving into a world of Barbies and playing princess with dolls (as many of my school friends did), I was more involved in playing video games with my brother and collecting Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

To this day, I still have a few Pokemon cards in my memory box that I refuse to throw away. In a sense, I wouldn’t say there is a specific anime that was comforting but in general, I have fond memories of the games, trading cards, and tv show/movie. After all, I’m not sure how many times I have to write out the impact Brother, My Brother from the movie played on my childhood but at least I can confirm that the entire Pokemon franchise has played some type of role in my life.

What is your comfort anime? Also, does anyone have a SP charger I can borrow (jk!)?

P.S. This is Day 25 of A Geeky Gal’s 30 Day Anime Challenge, which you can find more about here.
